Strengthen Connection and Rebuild Trust

Understand the patterns creating distance in your relationship

Emotionally Focused Couples Therapy helps couples recognize the recurring patterns that can lead to conflict, disconnection, or emotional distance. Rather than focusing only on the surface issue, EFT explores the underlying needs and emotions shaping how each partner responds.

Through a supportive and collaborative process, couples can develop greater understanding, communicate more openly, and create a stronger sense of safety within their relationship. This approach may be helpful for couples experiencing frequent conflict, emotional distance, trust concerns, reduced intimacy, communication difficulties, or the effects of a significant life change.

How does couples therapy work?

Sessions provide a safe, structured space for both partners to express their emotional experiences, better understand one another, and identify the interaction patterns keeping them 'stuck'.

Do we need to be in crisis to attend?

No. Couples therapy can support relationships at many stages, whether you are navigating significant difficulties or simply want to strengthen your connection and communication.

Will the counsellor take sides?

The focus is not on deciding who is right or wrong. Andrew works with both partners to understand the relationship dynamic and create a balanced, respectful environment.

What can EFT help with?

EFT may help with recurring conflict, emotional distance, trust concerns, communication difficulties, intimacy challenges, and adjusting to major changes within the relationship.

When Should Couples Consider Counselling?

Many couples wait until their relationship is under significant strain before considering counselling. By that point, disagreements may have become repetitive, emotional distance may have grown and both partners may feel frustrated or misunderstood. Although counselling can still help during periods of crisis, couples do not need to wait until their relationship feels close to…
