Clear Information Before You Begin

Understanding the cost of counselling and how insurance coverage may apply can make it easier to take the next step.

Andrew works with both privately paying clients and clients whose counselling may be covered through an extended health plan, disability insurer, or third-party funding program.

Coverage and billing arrangements vary, so clients are encouraged to confirm their eligibility before beginning counselling.

Counselling Fees

Fees are discussed clearly before your first appointment, so you know what to expect.

Couples Counselling

Extended Health Benefits

Using Your Workplace or Private Insurance

Many extended health benefit plans provide coverage for counselling services delivered by a Registered Clinical Counsellor. However, every policy is different.

Before booking, contact your insurance provider and ask:

  • Does my plan cover services from a Registered Clinical Counsellor, or RCC?
  • How much coverage is available each year?
  • Is a physician’s referral required?
  • Do I need to submit receipts myself?
  • Are there any limits on the number or length of sessions?

Clients are responsible for confirming their own coverage and understanding the requirements of their insurance plan.

Third-Party Funded Counselling

Support Following Illness, Injury or Time Away From Work

Andrew may also work with clients whose counselling is funded through an insurance company, disability claim, workplace program, or injury-related claim.

Possible funding sources may include (but are not limited to):

  • Canada Life
  • Manulife
  • Sun Life
  • ICBC
  • WorkSafeBC
  • Veterans Affairs Canada

Eligibility, referral requirements and provider approval vary between organizations. Please contact Andrew before booking so that the appropriate funding and authorization requirements can be confirmed.

Andrew brings more than 20 years of experience in chronic pain management and has worked collaboratively with healthcare professionals to support recovery, improved emotional function and a successful return to life or work.

Private Payment

You Do Not Need Insurance to Attend Counselling

Clients are welcome to pay privately for counselling without an insurance referral or third-party claim. Private payment may also be an option when insurance benefits have been fully used or when a client prefers not to involve an insurer.

Your counselling remains focused on your individual needs, goals and circumstances.

Cancellation Policy

Appointments require dedicated time to be reserved for each client.

Cancellations made with less than 48 hours’ notice may be subject to 50% of the full session fee. Exceptions may be considered in the case of emergencies or unexpected circumstances.

Questions About Fees or Coverage?

We Are Happy to Help You Get Started

Insurance policies can sometimes be difficult to understand. Andrew can clarify his fees and billing process, although your insurance provider will need to confirm the specific coverage available under your plan.
